Programme Overview
The aim of this course is to provide knowledge and improve competence level and skills used to make Ex-Equipment suitable for use in respective zones in hazardous atmosphere as per IEC 60079 Standards. The training and practical assessment are provided for electrical personnel who undertake the physical installation and assembly of new Ex-Equipment and, who perform preventative maintenance and inspections on previously installed equipment.

Delegate pre-requisites
In order to enrol for this course delegates must provide sufficient evidence of one of the following: NVQ (Electrical) Level 3, or have served a recognised Electrical Apprenticeship, or A JIB/ ECS card. Proof of the qualifications must be sent prior to the course commencement, failure to provide the information may result in a certificate issued with the wording "this person has not had their electrical craftsperson status or certification verified. Completion of these units does not infer electrical competence."

Participants from Electrical, Instrumentation, Production and Maintenance departments of Oil & Gas, (offshore/onshore), LNG, FPSO etc. industries involved in Selection/Installation and Inspection/Maintenance of ExEquipment suitable in PEHA.

Methodology
To enhance learning effectiveness, hand on experience will be emphasised in this programme through role-plays in class presentation, group facilitation and class critique.
Case studies, group discussions and video support will also be used to enhance learning experience. Fun quizzes will be injected to provide formative assessment and a fun learning environment.
At the end of the course, candidates will be given a theory test to assess their understanding of the knowledge elements of the Modules. The test can be open book.
