Programme Overview
In the training ATEX for Inspectors Electrical and Instrumentation delegates will learn how to examine new and existing installations in explosive atmospheres. They will be taught to draft an inspection report, become familiar with ATEX protection methods and assessing installations visually, accurately and detailed. The training is based on standards NEN 1010 and IEC 60079 part 0, 10, 14, 17 and 19.
  
Training pre-requisites
To participate in this ATEX training for E/I Inspectors, a CompEx certificate is highly recommended and a certificate for Inspector Low Voltage 1 is also highly recommended.

Who should attend
This training is intended for electrical and instrumentation personnel who inspect installations with a possible hazard for dust and gas explosions.

  • Drafting an ATEX inspection plan and marking it out with a goal and acceptance criteria
  • Approving existing and new electrical or instrumentational installations

  • Performing a visual, accurate and detailed ATEX inspection

  • NEN 1010 safety provisions for low voltage installations
  • NEN EN IEC 60079 electrical equipment for areas wherein explosive atmospheres can occur
  • NEN EN IEC 60079-10, -14, -17 and -19
  • Maintenance and testing of Ex d, Ex e, Ex n and Ex i explosion-safe installations, equipment and materials
  • Protection against danger of dust explosion (Ex t, Ex iaD, Ex ibD, Ex m and Ex pD)
  • Protection methods Ex-nA, nR, nC, nL and nP
  • Glands for use in explosion-hazardous areas
  • Reading and interpreting rating plates, type plates and markings
Methodology
To enhance learning effectiveness, hand on experience will be emphasised in this programme through role-plays in class presentation, group facilitation and class critique.
Case studies, group discussions and video support will also be used to enhance learning experience. Fun quizzes will be injected to provide formative assessment and a fun learning environment.

  1. M20 and M25 ( 20 pcs each ) Cable gland HAWKE and CMP brand.
  2. Armored cable ( 20 meters minimum) suitable for item 1
  3. Complete Tool Kit for cable glanding installation including spanner suitable for item 1 ( 20 set)
  4. Various size of certified JBs - Junction Boxes of Exd, Exe, Exi, etc
  5. Various type Ex certified Exd, Exe, Exi, etc. instruments, such as Pressure transmitters, etc
  6. Exi Barrier Zener barrier, and Galvanic Isolator
